Girls Health Alliance CGHA) is a national youth movement that promotes and advocates for girls right-to-health and equality by educating adolescent girls about their body and right to decision making and participation, and engaging state-actors and non-state actors to create an enabling environment that propels girls thrive. GHA is legally registered in 2020 as a Non- Political, Non-Religious and Non-for-Profit organization under the Association Law under title (5) five of the Liberian Code of laws revised and amended in 1976.
GHA was founded on the promise of building unflinching grassroots leadership amongst adolescents to transform their local communities for the health and well-being of girls and young women. We want to generate deeper ties with communities by giving youths the right information and skills needed to tackle issues that affect themselves and their peers. We want every girl to be fully informed about their bodies; from menstruation, family planning, to safe abortion. We want every girl to be fully informed about their sexual rights and participation in decision-making processes on issues that affect their bodies and communities. We want to remove political, cultural and social barriers that hinder adolescents from thriving in their communities by giving them the ability to echo their voices and lead dialogue with stakeholders and policymakers on critical issues that affect them.
